Walhalla State Fish Hatchery

One of five fish hatcheries in South Carolina, the Walhalla Hatchery is unique because it is the only one involved in the culture of cold water trout--brown, brook and rainbow used to stock public waters in South Carolina.

Brooks Center for the Performing Arts

This state-of-the-art facility serves as a roadhouse to many nationally and internationally acclaimed dance companies, theatre troupes, and music ensembles of all types. The Brooks Center also serves as a performance hall for music and theatre majors at Clemson University.

Silver Dollar Music Hall

The Silver Dollar Music Hall is a tradition in Oconee County! Local and regional artists perform in a family friendly community environment. While Blue Grass is the dominate sound you will hear, other styles are also featured including gospel and country.

 




Oconee History Museum

OHM brings history back to life through museum exhibits, educational programs, and community activities. The Center also displays two dugout canoes, one rescued from the Chattooga River dating from the late 1700s and a second, smaller canoe from the Keowee River.



Bertha Lee Strickland Cultural Museum

The Bertha Lee Strickland Cultural Museum will preserve, honor and share the integrity and authenticity of the history, heritage and diversity of the African American culture and community.

 

The Lunney House Museum

Built in 1909, the Lunney House is on the National Historical Register and the SC National Heritage Corridor. It retains its original character, making it a fascinating glimpse into a time gone by.

 

Historic Ballenger House

Located in the Seneca Historic District, the Ballenger House is a reminder of a different time when southern hospitality reigned and life moved at a gentler pace. Available for tours and special events, the house is maintained by the Seneca Woman's Club.

 

Museum of the Cherokee

The only Cherokee Museum in the State of South Carolina is located across from the Courthouse and half a block from the Oconee Heritage Center. Exhibits, artifacts and video help tell the story of the original settlers in Oconee County.

 

Patriot's Hall

Located in The Old Rock Building, Patriot's Hall ia a Veteran's Museum dedicated to preserving and honoring the history of our veterans. There are approximately 8,000 veterans in Oconee County. Open on Saturdays from 10 - 3 or by appointment.

 

Upstate Heritage Quilt Trail

Started in 2009 by an energetic group of volunteers, the first quilt block was mounted on the Oconee Heritage Center. Today, there are more than 150 painted quilt blocks spread throughout Oconee, Anderson and Pickens County.

The Blue Ridge Arts Center

Housed in Seneca's oldest church (circa 1881), BRAC is a group of art enthusiasts working to promote the arts in Oconee County through gallery shows and community art projects. 



Gateway Arts Center

The Gateway Arts Center is a 501c3 organization that relies entirely on donations, grants and fees to offer services to the public.  Their door to creativity is open to everyone.

                

Historic Ballenger House

Lighthouse Restaurant and Event Center

Old Saint Johns Meeting House

Built in 1889, this Carpenter's Gothic style building is the ideal venue for small weddings or meetings.  The pew seating will accommodate up to 60 people.  No food or drink are allowed in the space.    



Westminster Depot
