    The tournament will be held this year during Law Enforcement Officers Appreciation Week. It takes place at the Oconee Country Club, a par-71, 6,051 yard course in Seneca on Friday, June 15 with a noon shotgun start. We want to pass along our thanks and appreciation to those businesses, corporations, and individuals that have signed up to play in this year’s tournament or have purchased a hole sponsorship to show their support for law enforcement in Oconee County and the Crimestoppers program. If you have been thinking about getting involved in this year’s tournament, please do so as soon as possible at the deadline to purchase a hole sponsorship is noon, Friday, May 4, while the deadline to field a team is noon, Friday, May 11. Community First Bank will be the title sponsor for this year’s tournament. Also, Oconee Federal Savings and Loan is sponsoring the supper that is being held after the golf tournament while Chick-fil-A of Seneca and Clemson will provide lunch before the tournament begins. Registration for the Community First Bank 2018 Crimestoppers of Oconee County, Inc. Golf Tournament will begin at 10am the day of the tournament. The field will consist of 25 4-man Captain’s Choice teams. The cost per player is $60 or $240 for a team. Hole sponsorships are available for $100 each. Also again this year, for $150 each, hole sponsors can have their hole sponsorship signs displayed not only at the golf tournament but also at the Crimestoppers Apple Festival Car Show in September in Westminster during the 2018 Apple Festival.” Any questions regarding the golf tournament, including how to register a team or become a hole sponsor, can be directed to Watt at 864-638-4199.

    Join us for a lunch and learn as we hear from Dianna Gracely, current City Administrator  for Simpsonville, SC and she worked as the City Adminstrator for Travelers Rest.  She has also worked as the City Administrator in Landrum, SC, as a Program Manager at the Appalachian Council of Governments, and as a Legislative/Governmental Affairs Manager for the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce. Dianna earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Winthrop University and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Clemson University. Ms. Gracely has played an integral role in the resurgence of Travelers Rest, including the revitalization of Main Street, the conversion of the Swamp Rabbit Trail, the construction of Trailblazer Park, growth and development, and the modernization of City services and facilities.


    We'll also have Natalie Britt, Executive Director of Palmetto Conservation Foundation update us on the Oconee portion of the Palmetto Trail.

    Please mark your calendar for June Tuesday, 26th, for our Patriotic Concert to be held in the Walhalla Presbyterian Church sanctuary at 7:00 pm. The hour-long program is free to the public and will feature an area-wide chorus made up of members from participating churches and organizations. Join us in celebrating our patriotism, honoring veterans, and active duty military. The theme of the concert will be, "My Flag, Your Flag, Our Flag." Refreshments will be served following the program. Everyone is welcome!

    The Walhalla community honors its German heritage with the celebration of Oktoberfest. With two venues to enjoy, there will be plenty of fun for everyone.  Oktoberfest on Main Street will begin Friday, October 19 at 11 am and run until 7 pm and Saturday, October 20 from 9 am to 6 pm.  

    There will be traditional music, arts, crafts and lots of food.  


    Oktoberfest Main Street Vendor Terms & Requirements:

    Main Street will begin Friday, October 19 at 11 and run until 7 pm. Saturday will begin at 9 and run until 6 pm. VENDORS MUST STAY UNTIL CLOSING BOTH DAYS.


    Information regarding booth location and set up procedures will be emailed to vendors within two weeks prior to the event.  PLEASE provide your email address.


    NO VEHICLE TRAFFIC WILL BE PERMITTED WITHIN THE VENUE AREA OF MAIN ST. AT ANY TIME UNTIL THE FESTIVAL COMMITTEE OR WALHALLA CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT GIVES THE ALL CLEAR.  Vendor owned items must be transported to and from your parked vehicle by dollie or by foot.

    Art, craft and food vendors are currently being accepted. Deadline for arts, crafts and food application is September 30, 2018.

    Electricity is available for vendors.  SORRY, ONLY QUIET GENERATORS ALLOWED.

    Guy Penrod is one of the most in-demand touring artists in Christian music.  A vocal powerhouse, Penrod travels throughout the U.S. & abroad in addition to making multiple media appearances.  Penrod's music has been applauded in the Gospel as well as country formats.  He has appeared on "The Grand Ole Opry" and numerous country recordings.  His Hymns recording, debuted at #1 on the Southern Gospel retail chart and became the top-selling Southern Gospel in 2012.  In 2011, he became Texas gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee, and was inducted alongside the Gaither Vocal Band into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
