    Festival of Trees Registration



    It’s that time of year again! Duke Energy’s World of Energy education center at Oconee Nuclear Station is now accepting registration for its seventh annual Festival of Trees display. The Festival of Trees display and voting will be open to the public Nov. 21, 2019 through Jan. 3, 2020.


    If your organization is interested in decorating a tree for the display, please contact the World of Energy at 864.873.4600 or worldofenergy@duke-energy.com. The display consists of more than 20 trees, and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. It usually fills up quickly.

    Lee Greenwood is an ICON in country music, with more than 30 albums to his credit. In fact, MCA released an album in 2013 called ICON. 

    With seven #1 songs & 25 charted singles his hits include: “It Turns Me Inside Out”, “Ring On Her Finger Time on Her Hands”, ”She’s Lyin”, “I don’t Mind the Thorns if You’re the Rose”, “Dixie Road”, “Somebody’s Gonna Love You”, “Going Going Gone”, “You Got A Good Love Comin”, “Fools Gold”, and “Mornin Ride”. Several cross over hits include, “Touch & Go Crazy”, “IOU” and the duet with Barbara Mandrell, “To Me”. An additional duet with Suzie Boggus, “Hopelessly Yours”, was nominated for a Grammy. The CD “American Patriot”, recorded & released in 1992, went Platinum in 3 months. 

    Greenwood’s latest CD is: "I Want to be in Your World". He wrote three of the seven songs & plays saxophone on the original track, “Here Comes Love There Goes My Heart”. He also covered the Michael McDonald/Kenny Loggins ballad, “You Can Let Go Now.” McDonald is featured playing piano on the song.

    Our speaker will be Dr. Allison Justice, who received her PhD from Clemson University and is the Vice President of Cultivation for OutCo, a California based company.  During her time with OutCo, Dr. Justice partnered with them to create a hemp CBD extraction facility in her home located in Fair Play, South Carolina where she owns and operates a 40-acre hemp farm.  


    Your ticket will include a wonderful dinner from locally sourced food prepared by local Chef Evan Dimas, plus a complimentary drink.


    Additional cash bar of craft beer and wine will be provided by Brews on the Alley.


    A portion of the proceeds will benefit our FFA scholarship fund.

    Every year, Walhalla celebrates its German heritage at Oktoberfest. With arts, crafts, great food and drink on Main Street and Sertoma Field at Highway 183, it’s one fun-filled event, but  with two great venues.


    Join us for Oktoberfest on Main Street 2019 on Friday, October 18th and Saturday 19th.


    Browse the many booths of handmade crafts, stunning artwork, delicious baked goods and traditional fun foods, including funnel cakes, caramel corn, deep-fried treats, brats, kraut, and much, much more. For the kids there will be face painting and craft-making.


    Music and entertainment will be provided by “Just-Call-Ben”, who will have you dancing in the street with classic oldies, today’s hits and Oktoberfest specials.


    Our schedule will be Friday from 11AM to 7PM and Saturday from 9AM to 6PM.

    MAIN STREET VENDOR INFORMATION


    Oktoberfest Main Street Vendor Terms & Requirements:


    Main Street will begin Friday, October 18 at 11 and run until 7 pm. Saturday will begin at 9 and run until 6 pm. VENDORS MUST STAY UNTIL CLOSING BOTH DAYS.


    Information regarding booth location and set up procedures will be emailed to vendors within two weeks prior to the event.  PLEASE provide your email address.


    • Registration will be open on Friday, October 18 from 8:00 am to 10 am.  All vendors must check in. The registration tent will be located on the green next to Arbys. 
    • Set up can begin at 8 am.  All booths must be set up and completed no later than 10:30 am.
    • NO VEHICLE TRAFFIC WILL BE PERMITTED WITHIN THE VENUE AREA OF MAIN ST. AT ANY TIME UNTIL THE FESTIVAL COMMITTEE OR WALHALLA CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT GIVES THE ALL CLEAR Vendor owned items must be transported to and from your parked vehicle by dollie or by foot.
    • Electricity is available for vendors but you must specify the need on your application.  SORRY, ONLY QUIET GENERATORS ALLOWED.
    • Each vendor is solely responsible for collecting the applicable South Carolina sales tax and filing the report with the local department of revenue.

They kicked off their World Tour on March 27, 2019 and sold out twelve of their first eighteen shows.  The show features new music, songs from their solo projects and classic Allman Brothers and Gregg Allman tunes in honor of the 50th Anniversary of The Allman Brothers Band. The new album, slated for release on June 28, 2019, was recorded at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studios.

    Fortune sang tenor for the Statler Brothers for 21 years, and wrote several number one songs that were recorded by the Statler Brothers, including Elizabeth, Too Much on My Heart, and My Only Love.   After the Statler Brothers retired in 2002, Jimmy seized the opportunity to launch a solo career to share new music with his fans. His first solo CD, When One Door Closes, was released August 2003. He released a gospel album, I Believe, in June 2005, a Christmas CD, Feels Like Christmas, in 2006, a live concert DVD in 2007 a country CD, “Windows” in 2009, “Lessons” in 2012, and “Hits and Hymns” CD and DVD through Spring.

    The City of Walhalla and Walhalla merchants will be hosting the first Vintage and Artisan Market on May 2, 2020.  If you are a vintage collector, an Artisan or craftsman and would like to show your wares, come join us for this event.  

    Booth Fee:  10x10 $25 10x20 $45


    We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover.  A $3.95 processing fee will be added to credit payment.  


    The Oconee Chamber of Commerce will assist in the promotion of this event.


    For All Vendors:

    • Registration will be on the day of the event from 7 am to 8:30 am.  The registration tent will be located on the green beside Arby’s. 

    • Set up for booths can begin at 7am. (Event hours are printed above).  All booths must be set up and ready for business no later than 8:45 am.

    • Booth Spaces are 10x10 or 10x20 and you must provide your own tents and tables.  Vintage campers used for display are welcome but must be pre-approved. Send photo and size along with application.

    • ONLY QUITE GENERATORS WILL BE ALLOWED. Limited electricity is available. If you require electricity, please signify on your application.

    • You will receive an email (if provided) or phone call within two weeks prior to the event giving you your booth number, location and set up information.

    • All vendors MUST park off Main Street. Parking is available in the city parking lot between Spring and Catherine Streets. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM PARKING IN BUSINESS OWNED PARKING LOTS IF YOU ARE TOWED, IT WILL BE AT YOUR EXPENSE.

    • Each booth must remain within the designated marked space. Please be considerate of your neighbor’s booth area.

    • Booths may not be shared or sublet.

    • Sale of explosives, pyrotechnic devices or those that emit offensive odors are PROHIBITED, including snap pops and silly string. NO sales of guns or knives are allowed.

    • All tables MUST be covered by fabric with a skirt to the ground to hide any boxes or supplies underneath. PLEASE keep your area tidy.  All electrical wiring must be secured to avoid trip hazards.  

    • Vendors MUST submit a description and picture of items to be sold.  

    • Each vendor is solely responsible for collecting the applicable South Carolina Sales tax and filing the report with the local department of revenue.

    For Food Vendors:

    • Food vendors MUST adhere to DHEC regulations 61-25. They are Attached to the walhallavintageandartisan.webs.com.
