The Oconee County Arts and Historical Commission is offering the “Passport to Arts, Treasures and History” (PATH). The Passport Program, which is an effort by the Arts and Historical Commission to engage local citizens and introduce them to all the cool things and treasurers around Oconee County. The challenge is for people to take the next six months and get out and visit these sites and learn what is offered in Oconee County. Passports are available at the Oconee Chamber of Commerce locations.  You can get your passport stamped at each site; if it is an unmanned site there are directions about what to do if someone is not there to stamp it for you. If you do them all and turn it back in then you will get a little prize from Oconee County PRT and be entered into a grand prize for a week long worth of camping at South Cove County Park.  The Passport showcases 21 sites for family fun: Bertha Lee Strickland Cultural Museum, Blue Ridge Arts Center, End of the Road Studios, General Store Museum, Historic Ballenger House, Historic Old Pickens Courthouse, Church and Cemetery, Kudzu Kabin Designs, Lunney House Museum, Museum of the Cherokee in South Carolina, Oconee Community Theatre, Oconee Heritage Center, Oconee State Park, Oconee Station State Historic Site, Patriot’s Hall: Oconee’s Veterans Museum, Retreat Rosenwald School, Stumphouse Tunnel and Issaqueena Falls, Upstate Heritage Quilt Trail, Walhalla Art Works, Walhalla Civic Auditorium, Walhalla Fish Hatchery, and Duke Energy’s World of Energy.
